Nursery September 2026 – Everything You Need to Know

Welcome to Marlborough

We are delighted that your child will be joining our Nursery at Marlborough Primary School this September.

Starting Nursery is an exciting step in your child’s early education. Our aim is to help every child feel happy, secure, and eager to explore and learn through play.

Over the coming months, we look forward to welcoming you into our school community and getting to know both you and your child. At Marlborough, we believe that working closely with families lays the foundation for a positive start to school life and supports each child to thrive.

Parent–Teacher Consultation

This meeting is a valuable opportunity to:

  • Share information about your child
  • Discuss any questions or concerns
  • Begin building a strong home–school partnership

 Your parent-teacher consultation meeting with your child’s Nursery teacher will take place on one of the following dates:

  • Monday 7th September 2026
  • Tuesday 8th September 2026 (New date added)

You will shortly receive a specific appointment date and time.

Where to go:
Please go to the school’s main reception a few minutes before your scheduled appointment. Your child's class teacher will be there to greet you and take you to the Nursery Setting.

Can my child attend the meeting?
Yes, we would like your child to be there.

Nursery Staff

Meet in the School Hall at 9:45am

Full-Time Start - 30 hours

Children starting full-time Nursery will start on Wednesday 9th September 2026 at 8:45am to 3:30pm.

Part-Time Start - 15 hours

Children starting part-time Nursery will attend five days a week, for three hours each day.

Your child will start Nursery on one of the dates listed below:

  • Group 1 – Starts on Wednesday 16th September 2026, from 8:45am to 11:45am

  • Group 2 – Starts on Monday 21st September 2026, from 8:45am to 11:45am

Please note: You will receive an email confirming which start date your child has been allocated week beginning the 6th July .

Wraparound Care – Marlborough Minders

Wraparound childcare is available before and after school once your child starts Nursery.

  • Morning Care: 7:45am – 8:45am
    Please note that the Universal Free Breakfast Club is only available for children in Reception to Year 6. As a result, there are no subsidies for Nursery children, and the cost for morning care will be £6 per session.
  • Afternoon care: 3:30pm – 6:00pm

Spaces are limited, so we recommend joining the waiting list early. Booking details are available on our school website or from the school office.

Completing Your Child’s Admission – Essential Step

To complete the admissions process, please complete the online admissions form

This step is essential for securing your child’s place at Marlborough Primary School.

An email has been sent to you with the Admission Form Link. If you have not received it, please check your inbox (and junk/spam folder) for the email.

School Essentials

  • School Uniform: Where to buy it and what to wear. Please note: This is optional. Children attending the Nursery setting can wear the school uniform or their own clothes.
  • Term Dates
  • Cool Milk: School milk is available for all pupils; children eligible for Free School Meals receive milk free but must still register online.
  • SCOPAY: SCOPAY is our secure online system for school payments. Once your account is set up, you can easily select manage school-related transactions from home. You will receive a unique SCOPAY access code during your child’s first week of school. This code will allow you to create your SCOPAY account and register your child.

Weekly Newsletters

Every Friday, you will receive both the Nursery and whole-school newsletters by email, with:

  • Key dates and reminders
  • Nursery updates and highlights
  • School news and events

What You will Receive This Term

 You will received:

  • Your child’s class teacher
  • The date and time of your Parent–Teacher Consultation
  • Your child's start date

School Re-opens: Thursday 3rd September 2026

During the holiday period, staff will be unavailable, so please raise any questions before the end of term.
