Reception 2027 – Apply Now

If your child is in our Nursery and was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, you now need to apply for their Reception school place for September 2027.

Applications are open now. The deadline is midnight on Friday 15 January 2027.

Please do not wait until the deadline to apply. You will need to complete a separate application for a Reception place – being offered a place in Nursery does not automatically give your child a place in Reception. Hounslow Council confirms that Nursery and Reception applications are separate processes.

What you need to do:

1. Read the ‘Starting School in Hounslow – September 2027’ information carefully.
2. Choose your preferred schools and check their admission arrangements.
3. Submit your Reception application online through Hounslow Council.
4. Make sure your application is submitted by midnight on Friday 15 January 2027.

Apply for a Reception place – Hounslow Council

If you live in Hounslow, you can apply for up to six schools in order of preference.

Please make applying for your child's Reception place a priority this term.

How to Report Your Child's Absence

Please use the Arbor Parent App or Parent Portal to report your child's absence. Please do not telephone the school office to report an absence.

Same-day absences — please report by 8:00am

If your child is absent on the day, please follow these steps:

- Open the Arbor Parent App and tap Quick Actions on the home screen
- Tap Attendance, then tap the green Log Absence button
- The start and end times will default to a full school day — adjust these if your child will only be absent for part of the day
- Enter the reason for the absence, giving as much detail as possible
- Tap Log Absence to submit your request

A member of staff will review your request and approve or reject it. You can see the outcome in the Attendance tab of the app.

Please note: absence requests cannot be edited once submitted. If you need to make any changes before the request is approved, please delete it and submit a new one. Once approved, please contact the school office.

Future or planned absences

The Log Absence feature only works for same-day absences. For any planned future absences — such as medical appointments, hospital visits or holiday requests — please send the school an in-app message as early as possible (see below). Include your child's full name, the date or dates of absence and the reason.

Tapestry Learning Journal 

Tapestry Learning Journal – Parent Consent Needed

Tapestry is a secure online learning journal to share your child’s learning with you.

Please complete the consent form as soon as possible. 

Key Important 

Please ensure all your child’s belongings are clearly labelled with their name to avoid any loss.

Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle into Nursery every day

Please send your child to school with a photo of their family to share with the class. This helps us build a warm and welcoming community.

Where to buy it and what to wear. 

Please note: This is optional. Children attending the Nursery setting can wear the school uniform or their own clothes.

School milk is available for all pupils; children eligible for Free School Meals receive milk free but must still register online.

SCOPAY is our secure online system for school payments. Once your account is set up, you can easily select manage school-related transactions from home. You will receive a unique SCOPAY access code during your child’s first week of school. This code will allow you to create your SCOPAY account and register your child.

Lunch Time Provision - For Full Time Nursery

- Automatic meal booking: All children are automatically booked a school meal.

- Meal selection: Pupils will choose their meal at the counter—no need to select a meal preference on Scopay.
