Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) & FSM (Mayor’s Scheme)

All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day under the government’s Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) scheme. This ensures every child receives a healthy, nutritious lunch to support their learning and wellbeing.

Children in Year 3 to Year 6 attending a state-funded primary school in London are also entitled to a free hot meal every school day, funded by the Mayor of London, regardless of household income.

  • No need to apply – your child will receive free school meals automatically.
  • Meals support healthy growth, concentration, and overall wellbeing.
  • Saves families up to £1,000 per child, per year.

From September 2025, all children will automatically receive a free, nutritious school meal each day. If you would like to opt out, please contact our Welfare Officer at welfare@marlborough.hounslow.sch.uk.

Benefit -Related Free School Meals (FSM)

Your child will also be eligible for:

  • Holiday Activities vouchers during school breaks
  • Food Vouchers - £3 per child, per day during the holidays
  • Priority access and reduced costs for some clubs or trips
